Chili Cook-Off St. George Island, FL

Don’t miss the most anticipated and beloved event on the Forgotten Coast! (It’s definitely the spiciest!)

To some, this time of year signifies the beginning of spring and the return of daylight-saving time, but to those of us living in North Florida and South Georgia we know the first weekend of March signifies something far more important and tastier! Debuting some 41 years ago (wow!) the St George Island Charity Cook-off has since become arguably one of the most beloved and anticipated events on the Forgotten Coast.

For those of us who do not wish to exert as much energy- the best part of the weekend starts at 11 AM Saturday with the INTERNATIONAL Chili Cookoff Competition, Firehouse Foods, Retail booth and the ever-popular Chili Crawl! This spicy event spans multiple blocks, is family-friendly and is the main fundraiser for the St George Island Volunteer Fire Department (SGIVFD). The SGIVFD has major expenses this year that have pushed their budget over $500,000.00. You can help them reach Their goal of raising $150,000.00 by supporting this year’s events, wearing your 41st annual chili gear, and having fun!

So, call all your fellow chili aficionados and get ready to fire up your tastebuds. The area’s most flavorful event is right around the corner and shouldn’t be missed.
